[Synopsis]
Norio is an almost dull country boy seduced into eloping to Tokyo with Akemi, his 34-year-old, divorced English teacher. Akemi gets a job as a tout at a Karaoke bar but lies, claiming to be at a beauty salon. While Norio slowly adjusts to life in Tokyo, Akemi constantly prods him to study hard and become a lawyer. When Akemi’s secret source of money emerges, Norio is hurt and humiliated as their unconsummated love works its way through to a difficult, but almost inevitable, ending.
