[Synopsis]
Nemuro, a town on the eastern tip of Japan, along the Russian border. A solitary man appears on the desolate plain; in front of him are the ruins of the tochka (“pillboxes”) built during the Pacific War. He has made return for the first time in decades to the town where he was born. Coincidentally, a woman is present - to witness a moment that no soul was expected to see. The advent of the woman taking photos of the tochka stirs his deepest emotions. He leaves her with the mysterious words “I don't realize it was you.” She follows him.
