Director Raymond Red Manila Skies
What are your thoughts about the Green carpet?
" It is amazing and quite inspiring that the film festival focuses on something that benefits not only the merit of your own country, but for the rest of the world. Despite the lot of negative news, if you have a theme or dream like the Green Carpet that is so inspiring; not only could the film makers, but also the artists could actually bring the changes for the rest of the world with their powers. This is really something that is exciting and very progressive to do ".
How do you feel about the film festival?
" I am honored and excited to be here, although this was not my first time here, but what was exciting for me was that this was the first time that the film from The Philippines have entered the competition section. In the 22 years of history, this was the first time that our countries film entered the competition section, which is the main section of the film festival. And what was even more exciting for me was that this was the second time that I competed in the film festival. I was in the Young Cinema Competition, back in 1992, which was longtime ago. This film, Manila Skies which I showed you meant a lot to me. It was significant for me because this film was a comeback for me. I haven't done a film for a longtime. So I'm quite happy to have a world premiere here in Tokyo. And coming home to Tokyo really inspired my experience and I will move on to making my new films ".
