[Introduction]
A young Mainland woman Wong Hiu Ling (Zhang Jingchu) and her twin daughters suffered violence and abuses by her much older Hong Kong husband Lee Sum (Simon Yam). Her attempts to appease and divorce him tragically failed.

[Synopsis]
Wong Hiu Ling ( Zhang Jingchu ) and her husband, Lee Sum ( Simon Yam ), were no different from other Tin Shui Wai couples that had a Mainland Chinese wife: the husbands were usually old and unemployed, and the young wives were always suspected of being unfaithful. Living in poverty, Ling and her twin daughters suffered frequent abuses and threats of violence in the family. With assistance from social workers, Ling attempted to appease Sum and finally decided to divorce him. However, all her struggles to free herself and her children from Sum failed. They met with a tragic fate.
