TIFF Daily News, distributed last year, is born anew with its new looks as “TIFF Times”.

Daily informations of screening title and event information as well as columns about the films and interview with the Directors will be introduced using creative angles and have considerably improved compared to the issues passed out last year.

The interview coverage are especially work of such excellence that we were unable to present it all in limited space of the pages! (We plan to present the coverage that didn’t make the page on the TIFF official web site).

Moreover! Cartoon artist, Yoriko Hoshi known for her best seller web comic, “Kyo no Nekomura-san”, will publish Tokyo Eiga (literally, Tokyo Films) on TIFF Times.

Reading TIFF Times will allow you to enjoy films and events with greater interests. We urge you to pick it up at the venue for TIFF insight..

World Cinema section's Battle in Heaven will be shown with no English subtitles.

Please be informed that the Battle in Heaven, Spanish language film directed by Carlos Reygadas, scheduled for screening on Oct. 23rd (Fri) and 24th (Sat) will be shown without English subtitles due to unforeseen reason. The film will be shown with Japanese subtitles but the Q&A session with the guest, Carlos Reygadas, scheduled on Oct. 23rd (Fri) will be held in English.

We would like to make our most sincere apology for the inconvenience we may cause the English-speaking guests planning to visit the screening. We kindly ask you to be forewarned regarding to this matter.

Please allow us to announce the change of screening schedule regarding to the Opening film title, Oceans, planned to be shown at the Umeda Burg 7 Theater in Osaka.

Screening Date:
October 17, 2009 (Sat)
The Opening curtain will be at 16:00 / Doors will open at 15:50 after the correction.
(Prior to the change: The Opening curtain was at 17:30 / Doors were to open at 17:10)

The customers who have already purchased the tickets with the Opening curtain time prior to the corrections are courteously advised to visit the theater during the correct admission time. We would like to make our most sincere apology for the inconvenience we may have caused the guests visiting our film festival screenings.

This is to notify you that the procedures of the Walk-up Ticket Sales for the film titles which its Advance tickets have been sold out have been changed.

Due to our systemic situation, the tickets for the film titles which its Advance tickets have been sold out will only be sold at the theater box office on its
screening day starting from 10:00.

* Please note that there are no sales thru internet or sales at the Playguide (Ticket Agency) and convenience stores.
* Two tickets per one purchaser will be a quota for the film titles which its Advance tickets have been sold out.

No changes are made to the sales procedure for the film titles which Advance tickets have not been sold out.
