[Introduction]
The fate of Altun family is typical of the 2.5 million Kurds driven from their homeland in the southeast of Turkey. This is the story of the family's forced migration from the region.

[Synopsis]
This is the story of the Altun family's forced migration from the region and displaced lives that later lead to Istanbul, at the opposite end of the country, and still further away to Norway. To the Altuns, the land they know as home is heaven on earth, but a war of 25 years has poisoned that, making everyday life hell. One of the Altun sons, a soldier on national service, meets his guerrilla brother head-on in a mountain side clash. Eventually, these last remaining Kurdish families are levered off the land and forced to migrate to the big city.
